Let’s Spice it Up

I’ve always loved to see what other girls my age have to say about fashion and beauty. I realized I wanted to start a blog during the past semester but did not know exactly what I wanted to write about. A couple years ago, my sister created a personal style blog that I always thought was cool. I wanted to take her idea and spice it up a bit.

YouTube is one of my favorite past times. I literally binge watch beauty videos so much that I can’t remember the last time I turned on the tv! I have always wanted to create a YouTube channel to display my personal style and my input on beauty products.
When I came home from school, Cailin and I were talking about YouTube and blogs when we decided to take on this new project together! I want this blog to be a written twist on a beauty/fashion channels that I have always loved.

Cailin and I have completely different styles. Cay would describe her style as theme-focused. She likes to create her outfits around one dazzling piece connected to a time period or person. The rest of the pieces in her outfits are modern and centered around the “star.” Cay connects with online brands like NastyGal and Dolls Kill as well as consignment stores because she loves everything unique.

My personal style is the perfect mix between bohemian and glam. I love to create an outfit that stands out. I am a heavy accessorizer. I personally think that accessorizing can make or break an outfit. I also feel strongly about shoes (I have shoe issues). My go-to places to shop are Free People and Revolve because I cannot go on either of those companies’ websites without buying at least two products.

Although this post is only about one look, I plan to come up with more creative content for Sissues.

This look represents me well because it has that perfect boho/ glam combo I previously mentioned. This cream, crochet dress is a staple in my closet. I usually wear this piece over bathing suits at the pool or beach. I decided to dress up this cover-up to make it the centerpiece in a glam outfit. Did you know you can dress up any piece with a bomb pair of shoes? These pointy nude heels turned a higher-end but casual dress into an on-point going out ensemble. That’s the magic of fashion.

Thank you so much for reading and I will talk to you soon!
